What is Emo?

"Emo (adj) - 1) overly emotional or melodramatic. From the musical genre "emo.""

By now almost everyone online would have known what emo actually is. A classic emo blog would be Alwyn's blog. Those emo stuff he does in his blog is really interesting and emo.

But what does emo really mean? Remember the good old days when we say we are down and sad when something bad happen or when we don't feel appreciated? This is the new term for it. But don't be mistaken with the fashion style. I found a post from this site regarding Emo fashion, Emo Is Cool.

Then there is the Emo genre in music. Breaking down from various sub-genres, Emocore or Screamo. The latter two are more to the heavy screaming but containing sad meanings and failure in love, lack understanding of the individual and how hard love is. Oh yeah, some may say it is a way of being a cry baby but understand the lyrics it is really cool and expresses every little bit of us without us knowing.

I have always been in this genre ranging from Silverstein, Senses Fail to Alesana. Wanna experience this genre of music if you still haven't click here, PureVolume. If you don't like what I suggested there are many other great underground bands you might eventually hear on Malaysian airwaves roughly 4 months or 1 year down the road. Below is one of my favourite songs.

Broken Hearts Academy - Next To Me

But there is one thing that kills emo, "beating up emo." As from news from Mexico, March 2008, riots were formed between different musical subcultures, Metalheads and Punks are going against Emo as emo grows large in numbers in Mexico. News. A news report of this could be found on Youtube but it is in Mexican.

Emo is also a subculture in Malaysia as well other then Skinheads, Punks, Nazis and Metalheads. Lets hope not to see this in Malaysia.

A New Chinese New Year Song

The following post is done out of getting a rest from programming and project doing. Due to lack of musical talents, I can only do the lyrics. So tell me what you guy's think!?

------------------------------------------------------

Aren't you bored of hearing the lame old Chinese New Year songs?

Are you sick of the modernized Chinese New Year songs with ridiculous RAP and R&B feel? Or that Indian Guy singing in Mandarin?

Do you wish you have something new this year to listen when your going around to dig pockets of relatives or friend's parents to fund the PSP you always wanted?

Fear no more! A fusion of Christmas Song and Chinese New Year lyrics have been created. I was able to put the following together. Sing it to this tune (ignore the singing) Tune:

Mr Choi Is Coming To Town

U better watch out,
Never wear black,
Open your arms,
I'm telling you why:

Mr Choi is coming to town!

His reading his list,
Canceling out,
All those who's not keeping it real,

Mr Choi is coming to town!

He sees you when ur "pong"-ing,
He knows that you are losing,
He'll wave his hands,
When he walks on by,
To bring you all the wealth,

So... U better watch out,
In red underpants,
Open your arms,
I'll telling you why:

Mr Choi is coming to town!

A Spade and King,
To give u the win,
2 of Spades when u have the other threes,

Mr Choi is coming to town,
Mr Choi is coming to town,
CHOI SAN YEH IS COMING TO TOWN!! (high note)

If you have musical talents or know how to make music, feel free to message me and we can make this song into reality or make an album out of it all. Cheers!

Happy Chinese New Year!! Welcome the Ox in Yellow clothes this year!

Durian Cheese Cake

I am finally able to eat my birthday cake after waiting for 5 days! Vivien asked me out today for cake during lunch time. So the easiest place for cake that is affordable and nice would be Secret Recipe.

She ordered Baked Cheese (if not mistaken) and I ordered Classic Cheese Cake. Wanted Chocolate Indulgence but it was too rich and she didn't like Chocolate Indulgence. But the surprising thing about the cakes would be the Durian Cheese Cake!

Verdict: Taste like your eating durian. Durian melted on top of biscuit crumbs.

Durian Cheese Cake:

Interested to try? I guess no more. Cause it was the final slice and they are stopping production. :) Oh yeah.. Vivien didn't like the smell of my mouth after that. Thank God for Clorets (thanks WeWe)!

Saw V & Chicken Skins

Project dateline is fast approaching, stress is building. The time I have been using to slowly take my time as things come by has to be rushed quickly. At first, I thought the semester was ending in March, so I took it slow and easy. Then all of the sudden the project submission is on 13 of February! Never too late to rush am I right?

------------------------------------------------------------------

I watched Saw 5 yesterday. It was not the best Saw there is. I feel it has soften and a lot of nonsense are coming into the show making it lamer then it already is. The Saw episode theatstill brings the chills to my spine would be Saw 2 but for entertainment Saw 3! Saw 5 has soften in a way it is more to investigative and escaping being arrested (kinda like police and thief drama) then the usual teaching a lesson of survival like the usual Jigsaw is.

John Kramer aka Jigsaw is dying and passed the torch Amanda Young. Then it didn't make sense when John Kramer was still alive and kicking when he met his apprentice Lt. Hoffman for Saw 5. Where Hoffman faked as Jigsaw to kill the murderer of his sister? How is this possible? Yes, at the end of Saw 5 it did show Hoffman was helping out Jigsaw to plant trap for Saw 3 (I think), then why is Amanda still taken in as apprentice? Wouldn't it make sense if Hoffman did know about Amanda Young's existence?

If you are a Saw follower, you would know what I mean.

------------------------------------------
Alright as a Penangite, if you are at Gurney Drive food court you would know of the fried chicken skin. The store that sold it I bet you would know that has many other stuff sold that are fried. I don't really get the hype, it is just ultra fried stuff which has high content of fats and makes you fall sick if you eat too much. But it is something everyone would go for when they are at Gurney Drive. You can buy it from RM 1/= till no limit actually. But recommended amount RM 3/= if your sharing wif 3 person if not you would be sick! The following was me grabbing it after sometime when I took Vivien to get her fruits for the day.

Looks ugly but it taste lovely but not too much of it though.

Warren and Whisper

Happy New Year 2009!! Wanted to put a latest post yesterday, first post for year 2009 regarding Celcom and their University of X stuff. Mocking them but I found something better.

Introducing Whisper!

Since Paris Hilton starts putting Chihuahua ("tiny but mighty" adaptation from Beverly Hills Chihuahua) into their handbags as accessories, everyone is following suit. In Malaysia (as we know want to follow this trend), it is not a rare sight to see people carrying around a Shih-Tzu all over the place from fast food outlets to coffee shops or gosh, dining restaurants! Then now there is the Staffordshire Bull Terrier craze going on soon.

But today, Warren told me to check out his photo's in his project with Kok Hong, RoundEgg.Com, I found out about his beloved Maltese. It is a 6 months old female (not nice to call it a bitch even it is) and Warren has a website made for her. Didn't work for me but I am not sure about you guys, whisper.maltese.com.my, but you can give it a try.

I am not much of a fan for small dogs (favourite dog breed: British Bulldog) but this little fellow is really interesting to me. Warren bought it for RM 1.35. No! It is not One Ringgit and Thirty Five Cents it is RM 1.35K! (the amount of money people would pay for the thing they love most.) According to Warren, one of it's trade that it is small but it is fearless.

Small but fearless how often do you have that attitude? This lil dog when it is born it is almost the size of a coke can. I can slit it into my pocket with that, but fearless I do wanna see how fearless is fearless. But she was able to follow Warren up Point 5, Moon Gate while Warren only carried her 25% of the way! That sums up her fitness level, or maybe she is still young 6 months old. Hmmm...

Warren.. Great Dog.. Whisper Your Cute!
